Collider by Millennium Fields
Dispatch from the Milky Way: Collider, a collaboration sculpted from floating space and sprinkled through with galactic sparkle, has taken shape. Dear friends Holly Long and The Hitmaker, stretching the space between Venice Beach and Chicago, stand together on the internet plane as Millennium Fields. After previously releasing an emission of lush pop called “Stardust Glitter,” their forces have been directed once again toward the eye of the needle.
For 24 months, these two energy sources transmitted tracks back and forth, spinning wildly together in the virtual sandbox of internet music waves. And out of this two-year playdate, they launched a swirly electro-acoustic cotton candy dream EP dubbed Collider. As much a melding of visions as a collision of molecules.
The duo have crafted four new original tracks of psychedelia, and then–in a fit of stellar inspiration–landed on a sublime cover of the Cure’s “Pictures of You.” The set is rounded out with a remix of the opening track, “Trouble,” and finally, to enhance the continuity of the astronomical unit, their debut, epic single, “Stardust Glltter” as a bonus.
The record was mastered by Grammy-nominated engineer Marcos Sueiro, who has mastered all of the releases by The Hitmaker.
